Kyra Minturn
Kyraminturn Sedgwick was born August 19, 1965. She is an American actress and producer. Her most well-known part is as the Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, on TNT's crime series The Closer. Sedgwick won two Emmy Awards in 2010 and 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson. Following the seventh season Sedgwick received a Golden Globe Award in 2007 and an Emmy Award in 2010. The show ended on August 13th on the 13th of August, 2012. Sedgwick is also famous for her role in the show in the role of Madeline Wuntch, on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick received nominations for an Golden Globe award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film roles include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July (1989) and Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000) and What's Cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). The actress also appeared in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was one of the New York City native, the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald), an educator and family therapist and Henry Dwight Sedgwick VI who was a venture capitalist. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was an Episcopalian and of English heritage. Sedgwick has declared publicly her Jewish roots and stated that she takes part in Passover seders.
